Lindsee Torgerson
Lindsee started dance lessons at age three and developed a passion for the art. She has been trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern and hip hop and African dancing. She began her serious training with Trisha Wilstead from age 6 to age 18. Lindsee received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Emphasis in Ballet, at Utah Valley University with full scholarship. She was the first to achieve this degree from the University. She danced and traveled with several ballet and modern companies: UVU Repertory Ballet Ensemble, pre-professional company Utah Regional Ballet II, the UVU pre-professional company Contemporary Dance Ensemble, and UVU Synergy Dance Company. She has also performed in Utah Regional Ballet and Ballet West’s ballets. Lindsee has worked with great teachers and choreographers as she pursued her degree including Jacqueline College, Ballet Director of the professional Company Utah Regional Ballet. In 2008, Lindsee choreographed a contemporary pointe piece called “Influence”, which was picked out of many proposals around Utah to be set on members of Jacqueline’s pre-professional company and members of Utah Regional Ballet. This piece was first adjudicated and won the award for best choreography for pre-professional works, then picked to be adjudicated again and was taken to Long Beach for the Regional Dance America Festival where it was performed and adjudicated for the third time. Lindsee has been a faculty member at Utah Valley University teaching jazz. She now enjoys spending her time teaching and choreographing at Rocky Mountain Dance.
